The post holder will be expected to support and provide daily supervision to the multi-disciplined trade teams undertaking building services maintenance, minor project and installation works and the provision of specialist mechanical support.  The candidate will report to the service manager

Essential – Mechanical core trade

Preferable – SSSTS

Responsibilities:

• Working Supervisor – where 70% of role will be carrying out work orders.
• Lead by Example
• Take all technical calls from engineers. They should act as technical superior
• Prepare Quotes
• Offer first line guidance for people management
• Support apprentices with college requirements
• Offer support and guidance on tablets and process (non tech support)
• Check return visits and quotes submitted by engineers are correct
• Support with Appraisals or lead appraisals
• Assign buddy for new starts, meet with new starts, provide assessment of new start
• First instance interviews for technical positions
• Audit of site log books, engineer PPE, general site safety and subcontractor audits
• To complete and validate technical paperwork and statutory documentation
• Provide input into processes
• Provide tooling list for all new starts
• Have vans ready for new starts, with tools and full check of road worthiness
• Authorise tooling and uniform with pre-set budgets
• Hold team meetings where appropriate
• Regular asset checks
• Adhoc accreditation audit assistance
• Provide management with insight into team and operational issues
• Attend meetings as requested by the contracts managers
